EQB

At ErotiQueer BurlesQue we value queer representation; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and accessibility. We believe there needs to be more queer art on stage and on display, art of all kinds, and that drag is not a crime!

We value sensuality, sex-positivity, body-positivity, and body sovereignty. On stage we value originality, and theatricality.

At EQB we also value open, honest communication, within our Troupe and beyond. We believe authentic conversation is the key to creating community, to coexisting in a world with so many different types of people and experiences.

ABOUT US

We are a very small queer-owned business that creates burlesque productions and, eventually, other events; and our performers will soon be bookable for shows/private events through our website!

Our two co-producing artistic directors ~ or co-pads ~ are Rebel Raspberry {Production Manager, Performer} and The Crowned Juul {Media Manager, Performer}; and since they both have a theatre background and met at theatre school, ErotiQueer BurlesQue LLC is run like a theatre company. Our stage manager is Chandy Rose, our host is Nico de Gallo, our Faery Gardener is Julia Fae, and our choreographer is Rose Goldfish.

We produce three (3) burlesque productions each calendar year, which make up our 'season'. Each production in a season has a different theme, and therefore a different title, and is comprised of Troupe-choreographed ensemble numbers and solo acts inspired by the theme. These solo acts are performed by the co-pads, Troupe members, and guest performer(s); and, occasionally, artists will perform duets/trios/etc in these 'solo' slots.

We also highlight a local queer vendor at each of our productions, working with Truffles 4 Transformation, Maridad Studios, and Kitty Titties in 2023.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Great question! As we are a Queer Troupe whose goal it is to amplify Queer voices, and provide opportunities for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to express themselves creatively, only those who self-identify as Queer (or questioning/just starting their queer journey) will be cast in the Troupe. However, we do hold space for our Queer-and-Trans-friendly Allies, who can get involved with what we do as Guest Performers, volunteers, and audience members!

  • We desire to cast our Troupe members in as many solo slots as possible. However, we typically cast 1-2 guest performers per show, depending on the amount of submissions we receive. (Generally, we only cast maximum ONE non-queer performer per show)

  • If you haven't checked out Monday Night Jammie Jam yet, we highly encourage you to do so! We encourage attending their monthly show (first Monday of every month), and if you're ever interested in performing an act based on one of their themes, we encourage you to submit! It costs nothing to apply! Their mission is to create a space for brand new burlesque performers, and their gig is a wonderful opportunity to try out new acts and ideas you have. And they have a different theme every month so there’s lots to choose from!

We also encourage you to check out the following continuing education opportunities; for established performers & new dancers! (This is by no means an exhaustive list of all that's out there, this is merely a starting place):
